Grumblings at MPMF....

Local news is reporting that a local restauraunt/bar chain kicked out a few bands Saturday night due to "71% of the crowd leaving" - and replaced them with a DJ.
Local fans were not impressed, as a matter of fact - they are irate with the disrespect towards the bands. Considering some came from New York, that's a hell of a drive to end up not playing.
Dan McCabe, the man behind MPMF was not pleased...
"Fitzwater said the decision to cancel the acts was not taken well by Midpoint Music Festival's McCabe.
"I was going to approach him, try to talk to him, went to put my hand on his shoulder. He looked at me and said, ‘don’t you touch me. I’m getting them out of here.'"

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Guitarist Goes Missing - For A Bit
Keep your eyes open...we don't know what's up yet....
Los Angeles metallers FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH have released the following statement:
"We have not been able to locate Zoltan [Bathory, guitar] from FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH since Friday night's [September 18] show in Las Vegas. He has not responded to calls, text messages, or emails, and he was last seen around 2:00 a.m. Friday night at Wasted Space in the Hard Rock Casino, taking tequila shots at the bar with a group of guys from a bachelor party who came to the show.

"If anybody has any information as to the whereabouts of Zoltan, please email ffdp@prospectpk.com immediately. This is not like him and the band needs to prepare for the upcoming tour. We have already notified the appropriate authorities, but any help Vegas fans might be able to provide is very much appreciated."
It should be noted that someone logged in to Zoltan's personal MySpace page earlier today (Sunday, September 20), which makes the entire story a little suspect.
FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH is scheduled to begin "The Shock And Roar Tour" on Tuesday (September 22) in San Francisco, finishing up sometime in early November. Joining them on the bill will be SHADOWS FALL, OTEP and 2 CENTS.

UPDATE: As was previously reported, Five Finger Death Punch had announced that they were unable to locate their guitarist Zoltan Bathory. The band has now issued the following brief statement about getting in contact with him:
"Hey everybody—we found Zoltan!! We just talked to him and although he sounded somewhat incoherent he says he’ll be fine and the tour will start as planned tomorrow!! Sorry if he worried anyone!"
Hmm...a concert plug in a missing persons report...and who were these "authorities..??"

SOUL SANCTUARY - Ed Stevens Is One Of 13 Finalists In Total Guitar Magazine's Guitar Wars

Ed Stevens from Soul Sanctuary is a finalist in the Total Guitar Magazine's Guitar Wars competition. Ed has been selected as 1 of 13 finalists to become the next "Axe Hero" and now the voting begins! The winner will play at DOWNLOAD 2010, one of the UK's biggest music festivals.
Now they have a mission, if you choose to accept: Get as many people to vote for Ed Stevens of Soul Sanctuary as you possibly can. The person with the most votes by the October 4th will win a signed copy of Soul Sanctuary's Debut album "Afterlife".

"As you may or may not know, our brother and band mate, Chris Cox, was in a motorcycle accident last week, and he has had complications since, BUT, is on the road to recovery and will be in the hospital for some time to come.
There will be two benefit concerts in Fayetteville to try and raise money to help Chris Cox cover his bills while he is hospitalized and out of work. The first will be hosted by Hadez (formerly FUBAR) on Raeford Rd on the 19th of September. The second will be on the 25th of September at The Rock Shop. There will be local and regional bands providing the entertainment, 50/50 drawings and merchandise will be raffled at both events. Please come out and support this cause."
